‘Threshold’ Wood Engraving
Earlier this year I walked at one of my favourite places, the Elephant Rock at Boddin. I made a few notes in my sketchbook of the old gate and entrance to one of the roofless memorial buildings in the tiny graveyard at the top of the cliff. Later I thought it might make an interesting wood engraving, showing the overgrown ivy and disintegrating iron gate. This is the result, which I have submitted for selection to the SWE Exhibition at Bankside London in January 2024.
