‘Derelict’ a new oil painting
I started this oil painting before I had my Whipple operation in Ninewells on the 19th September for bile duct cancer. The plan was to have a painting ‘on the go’ so that I would have a painting to develop over my recovery time. Unfortunately I had to rely on photographs to complete the work.
I was taken by the subject from the first time I discovered it while out walking with Kali my dog. I made some drawings in my sketchbook along with a pen and ink study. I produced a wood engraving of the same subject. Overall, the subject was a challenge and I am pleased with the final result.
